If you would like to play in any of the sports events listed above then please make an initial contact via the OW contact and E-mail address shown giving your own contact details. Your E-mail will then be forwarded, if necessary, to the OW Event Organiser listed. Once this initial contact has occurred and the organiser has replied to you, then you will each have the contact details you require to be able to communicate directly with each other. Please don’t wait to be asked to play – note the dates and contact the relevant organiser now. Check the website regularly for updated information. We look forward to some excellent matches during 2010. Please support these matches, if you can, either as a spectator or a player.
Who can attend OW events?
All OWs are welcome at any event. In fact, you should be aware that all OWs are automatically members of the OWs for life at no cost to themselves no matter when or for how long they attended School. Whilst we are on the subject, you should also be aware that all OWs are welcome to visit the School any time you are in Woodbridge. If you can phone ahead and visit during term time, so much the better, but, if not and you find you have an unexpected spare couple of hours, you will be made most welcome anyway. Someone will be found to show you round and you can see just how much your old school has changed.
Dress code at social events
None of the social events listed above requires any sort of formal dress. This is something that is asked about regularly. Casual dress is fine for all events listed – for the Annual Dinner most people wear their normal business wear, such as suits, or smart casual. So it’s simple, come as you are normally and enjoy yourself with former classmates and friends.
Partners
Your partner is very welcome to attend any of the events listed.
Dinner Bookings
It is greatly appreciated if you can book with Mike Weaver as early as possible. This makes our planning and organising so much easier. Cheques should be sent to him at Woodbridge School, Burkitt Road, Woodbridge IP12 4JH together with the names of those making up your party - please include the Years you attended School (eg 1967-77), titles (Mr Mrs Miss Ms etc), christian names and surnames as these are needed for the place cards and seating plans. You will then be sent your tickets. A form listing all this information can be printed from the website.

The OW Website and the Spring OW Magazine will both have this information – so please log on from time to time for further updates.

It was a beautiful autumn day on Sunday 24th September 2006 when at 11 a.m. the OW touch rugby competition kicked off. The weather was a mixture of cloud and sunny spells with a soft mild breeze blowing. A perfect day for rugby.
Adam Lubbock had assembled 4 teams from School, Staff, OW Young'uns and OW Legends. Each team played three group stage matches, followed by a third-place final and a main final giving a grand total of 8 matches played throughout the morning.
The winning team were the OW Legends who beat OW Young'uns 15-5 in a thrilling final which saw touchdowns from Tim Johnson, Ali Carpenter and Josh Simpkin-Betts for the Legends and one touchdown for the Young'uns from Dom Walsh.
The Third place final was won by the Woodbridge School staff team who beat the school team into fourth place. All players seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and taking part in the competition and we hope this will become a tradition for future OW Weekends.
A trophy will be presented to the winning team in due course.
The contest was followed by a light lunch in the Tuckwell Room which brought proceedings for the OW Weekend to a close.
The OW Legends team comprised Tim Johnson, Ed Johnson, Josh Ripman, Oli Hurlock, Jeremy Marshall, Ali Carpenter, Josh Simpkin-Betts and Sam Ashard.
The OW Young'uns team was Dom Walsh, James Ramsden, Chris Wiggins, Ben Burrows, Alex Edwards, Matt Cade and Mark Fernley.
A huge vote of thanks is due to Adam Lubbock for arranging the whole morning and so ably refereeing all the matches.

OW Golf Day from 9.30amat Woodbridge Golf Course
OW contact: Richard Ambrose via richardambrose@oldwoodbridgians.org.uk
RESULT
Once again a truly magnificent day, the sun shone, the sky was blue punctuated only by a few fairweather cumulus. All of the 24 or so golfers seem to have thoroughly enjoyed the day. In the evening an excellent meal was enjoyed at Woodbridge golf club and the prizes for the day's efforts were presented. Roy Taylor attended to present the silver salver that he donated to the Golf Society way back in 1970 despite the fact that he was just recovering from a cracked heel bone caused by jumping into a swimming pool aged 88!! Pat Betts also attended to witness the presentation of the silver salver that he donated to the Golf Society on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. Our sincerest thanks must go to Richard Ambrose for all his hard work and dedication in bringing the day together.

School contact: David Brous via d_a_brous@yahoo.co.uk

A truly wonderful afternoon's cricket. The sky was blue, the sun shone, the temperature was warm with a slight breeze, the school grounds looked perfect and everyone had a relaxing Sunday afternoon playing and watching cricket. The OWs scored 253 runs in their 35 overs and School exceeded this score in the very last over with five wickets in hand. Rowan Edwards did score a massive and unbeaten 140 runs for School although he was dropped six times by OW fielders which in itself must be something of a record! This must be the closest and most exciting cricket match for a very long time. Our sincerest thanks must go to Jonathan Percival and David Brous for making it happen.

This proved to be pretty disastrous for the OWs!!!!! None of the OW University players were able to get away from college, due to end of terms dates occurring after School had broken up, and the Felixstowe gang had another match. A scratch team, including some of the actual committee - well those that can still walk, were soundly beaten by the School but managed to score one goal.
